Navigating Change as the New Year Begins

Living Your Best Life
January 1 Calendar

For many, the New Year means a time to set goals, make promises, and forge a plan for the year ahead. But while many are making resolutions to change their lives for the better, others have change come their way whether they are ready for it or not. At Privatus, we’re prepared to help you and your loved ones navigate that change – large or small – and help you continue to live a full life, no matter what the adjustments.

Starting Small

Many clients who come to us face small – often temporary – challenges which nevertheless mean adjusting your daily life a bit. Small changes in your life could range from needing mobility assistance for a few months after a surgery, to needing to adapt to reading glasses or a hearing enhancement device.

We often don’t realize how even small changes can shake up our daily routine or impact our everyday activities, from getting ready in the morning to going out to dinner with our partners.

At Privatus, we’ve worked with clients of all ages, facing various setbacks, navigate the change and continue doing the things they love. We work to help clients stay positive, realize that the change might not be permanent, and provide information and support as to the best ways to adjust and thrive in their new reality.

Managing the Medium

Sometimes a change isn’t temporary and has a bit of a bigger impact on your life – whether that be remodeling your bathroom to make it more accessible to your needs, or moving to a smaller home. Privatus concierges and staff are ready to help you through medium-sized shifts in your life as well, and are equipped to assess what renovations your bathroom may need.

Another change that has a fair amount of impact might be giving up one’s drivers license. That change doesn’t have to mean you give up independence and autonomy, however. We’ll work with the client, their families, and the full care team to make sure you can do the errands you need to do, keep up with important rituals and traditions, and hopefully have a little fun along the way.

Living Through Large Change

There are small and medium-sized life changes, and there are those that can feel so overwhelming that it seems like nothing about life will ever be the same. If the face of a major change in the health status of a loved one, for instance, it’s about not just navigating the physical change, but also the mental and emotional one that might come with a new challenge.

The Path Ahead

We help clients to combat some of the biggest challenges life throws at us head on, by working hard to ensure that the change in mindset is a positive one. Our goal is to help you see the glass half full instead of half empty, and we’re here to support you and help you find outside support in the community, in the form of support groups, activities, or hobbies.

We diligently work to find out what makes you, well, you, and think about creative ways to keep that identity alive, even if it means changing a few habits. Staying in a good state of mind could be as easy as getting involved in the community, starting a habit of daily exercise, revisiting a past professional passion, or just taking some time for yourself to relax and regroup.

No matter how big the change you might face this year, whether it is physical or habitual; whether it is something you are going through, or a change for a loved one, Privatus is here to help go through uncharted waters with you.
