Gearing Up for Summer

Living Your Best Life

It’s something you look forward to every year – heading to your cottage in Chatham, your summer house in Sag Harbor, or the family estate in East Hampton – smelling the fresh salty air, putting the chairs out on the deck and getting ready for a great summer filled with family and sun.

The months you look forward to every year don’t need to change drastically just because of a health challenge, and the entire Privatus team is here to make sure you will be making new summer memories this year.

Setting up the House

You might have the annual summer house opening down to a science, and be worried about whether you can even open the house this year. A Privatus Lifestyle Concierge is here to help make sure that opening the summer house in the Hamptons, Cape Cod, or Martha’s Vineyard, goes as smoothly as it has in the past. That means everything from hiring a company to assist, arranging transportation to and from the house, and making sure everyone in the family is in communication.

Making Adjustments

Once the house is opened for the summer, there might still be more work to do to accommodate temporary challenges or simply make life easier. Privatus is able to do a walkthrough of the home, suggest areas that could use improvement, then arrange for those adjustments to be made. Whether this means rearranging the living room furniture, moving your favorite china to a different part of the kitchen, widening walkways, or adding  fixtures in the bathroom, we are here to help.

Privatus can also help you schedule  transportation services throughout the summer, or organize at-home food or grocery delivery from your favorite local providers.  From Montauk to Nantucket, let us help you plan for any additional help you might need in the summer months.

Planning for Social Events

Summer is also a time for family outings, clam bakes, BBQs and Fourth of July parties. While you might previously have enjoyed your time as a host or hostess, it can be stressful to think about how you’ll manage after a change in lifestyle. Just like your day-to-day activities, Privatus is here to help you and ensure that you can keep doing the things you love.  This might mean hosting a bridge night, heading out to the beach for an evening stroll, or getting transportation to your friend’s Southampton home for her annual soiree to kick off summer.

Spending Time with Loved Ones

From family board game nights to intimate dinners to just sitting on the porch reading, part of the fun of a summer house is spending time with loved ones. Privatus is here to not only help you continue doing the family activities you love, but also to serve as a support system and sounding board for your extended family

Taking Time for Yourself

The summer is all about taking the time to really relax and wind down, even if you retired many moons ago. Our staff can help set you up with the right transportation, technology, or other resources to keep you engaged in what you love to do, whether that’s reading a book, playing cards, walking outside, or listening to music.
